Cell size, number and density in the retina ganglion cell layer of Pekin duck retina at different embryonic age

Abstract: Changes in cell size, number and density of the ganglion cell layer(GCL)of the Pekin duck retina were studied by using the methods of Nissl-staining and Scion Image picture processing at embryonic age day-11,14,17,20,23 and 26. The result indicated that the cells in GCL were small and round uniformly at E11 and E14. The large cells were first found at E17. From E11 to E26, cell size was increased 1.97-fold in the central area (CA) and 3.1-fold in the temple periphery (TP), and there was significant difference among all embryonic ages. During the growth and development of embryo, the total number of cells in GCL was increased to 2.03×106 cells at E17, and then decreased significantly with age. Differentiation of the central-peripheral gradient in cell density has been performed at E11. Cell density in CA was up to the maximal value (2.54×104 cells/mm2) at E17 and then decreased. However, cell density was decreased constantly in the peripheral area, especially in TP. In conclusion, E17 is the most important point for the retina during the embryonic developmental of Pekin duck, accompanying changes in cell size, number and density in GCL [Acta Zoologica Sinica 54(6): 1082 – 1088, 2008].
Biological Characteristics of Locusta migratoria migratoria Linnaeus in Northeast China

Abstract: In order to find out the life cycle and the main biological characteristics of Locusta migratoria migratoria Linnaeus in Northeast China,raising and investigation were conducted during 2010—2011 in Jilin province.The results show that one generation of Locusta migratoria migratoria occurs annually in Northeast China,and the eggs are laid in soil to overwinter.The overwintering eggs begin to hatch in early or middle June and reach the hatching peak in middle June.The developmental duration of nymphs are 28~35 days,each spends 5~7days.The adult emergence time is in early July,and reaches the eclosin peak period in middle July.After about a week the adult male and female begin to copulate,and reach the copulation peak in late July.The adult begin to oviposit in early August after copulation for two weeks,and the oviposition activity has been extended to the early October.The environmental conditions have important influences on the growth and breeding activities of Locusta migratoria migratoria.
ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EVALUATION OF TOURISM RESOURCES AND IMPACT OF NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract: Tourism resources are deeply influenced by their natural environments. This article discusses the critical impacts of the spatial environment, geological and geomorphological environment, climatic hydrological environment, biological soil environment and differences in environment on tourism resources that have not been adequately recognized and a synthetic analysis of these impacts is made. Sufficient considerations should be given to relationship between the growing environment of tourism resources included are location, quantity, quality, type, situation of exploitation, period fitting for tour, varied functions, etc. It puts forward synthetic character, dialectical character and cognate character associated with the impact of natural environment on tourism resources. It also suggests that evaluation factor system of tourism resources should be complemented and perfected, and the evaluation percentage between the value of resource factors and the value of market factors should be adjusted. It further suggests that supplementation should be done with stabilization factors in the value of resources factors and the perfection of the resources and market value should be increased with location, approach, safety, varied functions and interactions with other tourism resources.

Abstract: A neutral protease product with an activity of 8000 u/g was used in the experiment. A basal diet without exogenous enzyme inclusion and four test diets adding 0. 5%0, 1%0, 2%0 and 3%0 of the enzyme product respectively were prepared to feed five triplicate groups of fish with an initial average body weight of (3.03 ± 0. 04) g. The feeding trial was conducted in 15 re circulating tank systems (80L each) at a controlled water temperature of 25 ± 0. 5℃ and lasted for eight weeks. At the end of eight weeks, the weight gain of fish fed a diet with 0. 5%0 of enzyme product showed no significant difference with that of fish fed basal diet (p >0. 05). When fish fed a diet with 1%0 of enzyme product, the weight gain increased significantly (p < 0. 05) comparing with those of fish fed basal diet and the diet with 0. 5%0 of enzyme product, but higher levels of enzyme product inclusion seemed not to improve weight gain further. Fish fed diet with 1‰, 2‰ and 3‰ of enzyme product had higher feed ingest and lower feed conversion ratio than those of fish fed basal diet or the diet with 0. 5‰ of enzyme product (p <0. 05). There was no effect of adding the enzyme product in the diets on the apparent digestibility of dry matter, intestine protease activity, intestine and hepato-pancreas amylase activity, body composition, Viscera index, and Hepato-pancreas index (p > 0. 05). However, the apparent digestibility of dietary protein of fish fed four test diets were significantly higher than that of fish fed the basal diet (p < 0. 05). The hepato-pancreas protease activity increased with increasing dietary supplementing the enzyme product up to 1‰, but above this level, it appeared to keep stable. In conclusion, under the condition of this experiment, adding 1‰ -3‰ neutral protease product to fingerling black carp diet could promote feed ingest and digest capacity of dietary protein, and as a result, improve fish growth and feed conversion.
Surveillance of Intra-Abdominal Pressure and Intestinal Barrier Function in a Rat Model of Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis and Its Potential Early Therapeutic Window

Abstract: Objectives To monitor intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) and intestinal barrier function in a rat model of acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) to elucidate a potential relevant therapeutic window. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into experimental or control groups. The ANP group (n = 40) was injected with 4.5% sodium taurocholate into the pancreatic duct to induce ANP. The controls received only abdominal opening surgery (sham-operated, SO; n = 40) or no treatment or surgery (baseline; 0 h, n = 20). The SO and ANP groups were then randomly subdivided into 3, 6, 12 and 24 h groups (n = 10 each). IAP was measured at each time point and the rats were sacrificed to measure the weight of accumulated ascites fluid and the amylase, endogenous creatinine (Cr), total bilirubin (TB), tumor necrosis factor- alpha (TNF-alpha), diamine oxidase (DAO), and D-lactate. Mortality and the development of pathological changes in the pancreas and intestines were also monitored. Results IAP showed a continuous upward trend in the ANP group, with values 2 to 3 times higher than those in the SO group at the corresponding time points and the rising rate was peaking at 6 h. The levels of plasma amylase, TNF-alpha, Cr, TB, DAO, and D-lactate also gradually increased in the ANP group over time and were significantly higher than in the SO group at 3, 6, 12 and 24 h (all P<0.05). Moreover, the rising rate of TNF-alpha, DAO, and D-lactate also peaked at 6 h. Conclusions The ANP-induced changes in IAP, inflammatory factors and intestinal barrier that we observed in the rat model were especially obvious at 6 h post-induction, suggesting an early therapeutic window for the treatment of ANP in humans.
Purification and characterization of α-galactosidase from Aspergillus niger v.Tiegh RM48

Abstract: 经硫酸铵沉淀、疏水柱层析和分子筛层析,从黑曲霉变种RM48(Aspergillus niger v.Tiegh RM48)固体发酵后的浸提液中分离纯化了α-半乳糖苷酶.SDS-PAGE分析表明,此酶蛋白的分子量约为108 kDa.酶学性质研究表明,该酶的最适反应温度是60℃,耐热温度为40℃:最适反应pH为4.5,在pH 3.0~6.0之间保持90%以上的酶活性;在实验的金属离子范围内,所有金属离子对黑曲霉变种RM48α-半乳糖苷酶均有抑制作用,其中Cu2+和Fe2+抑制作用最为显著,Li2+、Zn2+、Mn2+、K+、Na+、Ca2+,Mg2+和Co2+对酶活性有轻微的抑制作用.在pH 4.0和60℃反应条件下此酶的Km为7.37mm01·L-1,Vmax为5618 IU·mg-1·min-1.成熟酶蛋白N端序列为DEKAYSPCYY,与已报道的α-半乳糖苷酶蛋白无同源性.

Abstract: "One-factor-at-a-time" method was applied to investigate the medium composition and fermentation conditions for α-galactosidase production by a mutant strain Aspergillus niger v. Tiegh CGMCC1182 in solid-state fermentation, and then orthogonal Ln18(37) design was used to further optimize the seven significant factors. The optimal medium was composed of wheat bran (WB) and soybean meal (SM) with a ratio of 7∶3 (W/W), 2.0% of raffinose, 2.5% of (NH4)2SO4 and 0.5% of MgSO4. The optimum temperature and moisture level for α-galactosidase production were 30.0 ℃ and 55%, respectively. Fourteen gram of medium with 10% (V/W) of inoculum (107 spores·mL-1) in a 250 mL flask was suitable for enzyme production, and the maximum α-galactosidase activity reached 308.5 U·g-1 at a period of 68 h cultivation.

Abstract: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is highly infectious and has spread worldwide. Medical staff may be exposed to the infection under circumstances of medical supply shortages and improper protection. How to better protect medical staff has become the focus of all walks of life. Therefore, during the COVID-19 outbreak, timely adjustments and optimization of nursing management strategies in isolation wards are important for improving care quality and reducing the infection of medical staff. Based on a literature review and clinical nursing management practices, this article summarizes the nursing management strategies in isolation wards during the COVID-19 outbreak, aiming to provide references for clinical nursing managers.
